1. Fault alarm caused by external environment
1) Power alarm
Caused by disconnection of the power cord, power outage, or dead battery. Generally, monitors have their own batteries. If the battery is not charged for a long time after use, it will prompt a low battery alarm.
2) The ECG and respiratory waves are not monitored, and the lead wire is off and alarms
In the case of excluding the cause of the monitor itself, there are two main aspects to the ECG and respiratory failure caused by the external environment:
l Caused by the operator’s settings:such as using a five-lead but three-lead connection.
l Caused by the patient: The reason why the patient did not wipe the alcohol pad or the patient’s skin and physique when the electrodes were attached.
l Caused by electrode pads: it is unusable and needs to be replaced with new electrode pads.
3) Inaccurate blood pressure measurement
2. Faults and alarms caused by the instrument itself
1) No display when booting, the power indicator is on
l Power failure: If there is no response after booting, it is usually a problem with the power supply. Therefore, you need to carefully check the power supply and power cord to check whether the power supply is normal and whether the plug is properly inserted. If the power supply and plug are normal, there may be a problem with the fuse, and the fuse needs to be replaced in time.
l Poor contact: If the monitor is fuzzed or black, if it is not the cause of the screen itself, check whether the data cable slot on the back of the display screen is loose or the fuzz or black screen caused by poor contact, disassemble the display shell, and insert the slot tightly. Glue both ends of the socket to eliminate the fault.
l Display failure: check whether the backlight tube is damaged, and secondly check the high-voltage board.
2) No blood pressure measurement
l Check whether the blood pressure cuff, measuring tube, and joints are leaking. If the cuff is used for a long time, it will leak air and become unusable. It can be solved by replacing it with a new cuff.
3) No measurement of SpO2
l First check whether the probe is normal. If the probe light is on, it does not necessarily mean that the probe is good. If the probe is normal, there is a problem with the circuit board measuring SpO2.
